Hussein Alayyan

AIA, WELL AP
Senior Associate | Project Architect

A native of Lubbock, TX, Hussein joined EskewDumezRipple in the Fall of 2013 with a diverse background stemming from professional practice stints in New York City and Cairo, Egypt. In his 15 years of practice, he has acquired a significant portfolio of domestic and international work that reflects his interests across building typologies including mixed-use residential, commercial interiors, and urban design.

Hussein brings tremendous talent with an intellectual approach to design challenges. In the past years, he has elevated the firm’s portfolio of developer-driven projects, managing large teams of considerable complexity for such award-winning projects as Mya in Salt Lake City, The Shop at the CAC, the Beacon, and 380 S.Liberty. On all, he has helped push the bounds of mixed-used projects maintaining a philosophy that great architecture and interior design considers all facets of the urban condition: grounding return on investment with simultaneous considerations for the user experience and environment at large. In 2019, he was named an Associate in the practice.

Outside of the office, Hussein feeds his creative drive building furniture and cooking. While no stranger to relaxing in the sun, he enjoys playing tennis, boxing and is in constant search of a new shoreline to surf.
